The Portland Trail Blazers have been managing a multitude of injuries at the guard position, especially when it comes to Scoot Henderson. The young guard has been recovering from a hamstring injury, and the team provided a new update on his status ahead of their upcoming contests, which are nearing the end of November.

How Is Scoot Henderson Recovering From Injury?
Henderson has yet to take part in a game for the Trail Blazers in the 2025-26 NBA season. He tore his left hamstring before the regular season got underway, which has since kept him on the sidelines for multiple weeks. The team provided a new update on Henderson’s recovery from the injury on Nov. 21, revealing the next evaluation of his injury.
“Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson continues to progress through the current phase of his rehabilitation for a left hamstring injury. He will be re-evaluated in 2–4 weeks, based on his clinical progress. His status will be updated as appropriate,” the post read.
The team further emphasized his absence remains the same as they ruled him out of their contest against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. This adds to a growing injury report, as other players being out include Jrue Holiday, Matisse Thybulle, Damian Lillard, and Blake Wesley.
Henderson has been featured in the Trail Blazers’ first and second units throughout the first two seasons of his career. The team selected him third overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, with high expectations for his ability to contribute to the squad.
However, things haven’t been easy for the young guard. Throughout 128 appearances that included 42 starts, he averaged 13.3 points, 5.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game. He shot 40.1% from the field, including 34% from beyond the arc, and 79.3% from the free-throw line.
Being able to shoot the ball efficiently will be vital for Henderson to maintain his role as an active guard in the NBA. His playmaking has shown significant improvement, enabling him to create more chances for his teammates. However, if he can improve his shot accuracy, he can unlock a crucial part of his game.
What’s Next for the Trail Blazers?
The Trail Blazers will hope for the best results as they await Henderson’s return from the hamstring injury. In the meantime, they will strive to continue winning in a tough Western Conference.
Portland has an 8-10 record on the season, holding the ninth spot in the West standings. They are two games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies and 2.5 games ahead of the Utah Jazz, while trailing the Golden State Warriors by 1.5 games and the Timberwolves by 2.5 games.
The Trail Blazers will continue their preparation for their final NBA Cup group stage matchup, which will be held at home. They face the Spurs on Nov. 26 at 10 p.m. ET. After that, they host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m. ET.
