It’s the final weekend before the NBA regular season begins, which means you’re coming here for your fantasy basketball drafts.
Should you draft Anthony Edwards this season? Here’s the latest outlook, projections, and rankings for the Minnesota Timberwolves Shooting Guard.

Should You Draft Anthony Edwards in Fantasy Basketball?
Anthony Edwards’ 3-point rate exploded last season and he finished as one of three players to jack up 10+ triples a night (others: Steph Curry and Jayson Tatum). The greats in any fantasy sport are able to increase their role without experiencing a dip in efficiency and that was certainly the case with Edwards knocking down 39.5% of his tries from downtown, easily the highest mark of his five-year career.
I think we see him take more 2’s than 3’s this year (that wasn’t the case in 2025) and getting an athlete like this putting more pressure on defenses off the bounce is a great thing for all involved.
Of note, he was a 37% shooting on long 2’s, his best mark since 2022 and an important skill to have with that shot making a bit of a resurgence league-wide.
At the end of the day, you’re getting a highly available start (72+ games played in every season) who converts over two-thirds of his shots at the rim who is an annual threat to lead the league in 3PM.
Would I love to see him push the 2.0 blocks-plus-steals per game for the second time in his career? I would, but that would be gravy. We’ve got a pretty clear top-5 players in redraft formats this year and after that quintet is off the board, Ant Man has as good a case as anyone to be the next selection.
