Anthony Davis Made His Feelings Clear About Mavs Star Kyrie Irving

Anthony Davis spoke about his Dallas Mavericks teammate Kyrie Irving.

Kyrie Irving is one of the best point guards in NBA history.

That said, the Dallas Mavericks star has yet to appear in a game this year due to injury.

The Mavs are currently the 11th seed in the Western Conference with a 13-23 record in 36 games.

Anthony Davis Made His Feelings Clear About Mavs Star Kyrie Irving

On Saturday night, Anthony Davis led the Mavs to a 110-104 victory over Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets.

He finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and five blocks while shooting 9/15 from the field in 39 minutes of playing time.

After the game, Davis was asked about Irving (via Abby Jones of DLLS Sports).

Davis: “Obviously, we want him back. He’s coming off a serious injury… I don’t try to ask him about coming back… He’s a hell of a player. A Hall of Famer. He changed the dynamic of our team… When he gets back, we’re gonna be an even better team.”

Davis is now averaging 20.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.7 blocks per contest while shooting 52.2% from the field and 29.4% from three-point range in 18 games.

He is in his first full season playing for the Mavs.

Unfortunately, Davis and Irving have only been able to play one game together.

Irving is coming off a season where he had averages of 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 47.3% from the field and 40.1% from three-point range in 50 games.

During the 2024 season, the former Duke star helped lead the Mavs to the NBA Finals.

The Mavs will play their next game on Tuesday night when they visit the Sacramento Kings in California.

They have gone just 3-12 in the 15 games they have played outside of Dallas.

On the other side, the Rockets dropped to 21-11 in 32 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
