Anthony Davis’ Agent Rich Paul Makes Feelings Clear on Mavericks Star’s Injury Amid Trade Rumors

NBA agent Rich Paul spoke his mind regarding the Dallas Mavericks potentially trading Anthony Davis.

It’s been a rollercoaster ride between Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks. Earlier this season, the Mavericks gave Davis an ultimatum, stating that if he didn’t perform as expected, the front office would ultimately consider trading him. However, nothing has come to fruition yet, as the team is still seeking a deal that benefits them.

Unfortunately for the Mavericks, it might be challenging to trade Davis now due to ligament damage the big man sustained in his left hand. With a little under a month remaining until the NBA trade deadline, there might not be enough time for Dallas to find a new home for Davis. His agent, Rich Paul, expressed his thoughts on the trade rumors.

Mavericks May Struggle To Find a Trade Deal for Anthony Davis

The Mavericks are in deep trouble regarding the trade of Davis. Last Thursday, the Mavericks faced the Utah Jazz when AD sustained an injury to his left hand.

Sources reported that his hand may require surgery, which would end his season abruptly. However, if surgery isn’t necessary, Davis is expected to miss at least six weeks of action.

What does this mean now for Dallas’ intentions of trading the big man? With only three weeks remaining until the trade deadline, other NBA teams might not want to trade for a player who won’t be readily available when he moves in.

Davis’ agent, Paul, spoke his mind regarding the Mavericks taking too much time to pull the trigger on trading the big man.

“I do think when you have that trade speculation out there, you have to make your mind up because sometimes when you play in traffic, you get hit by a car,” Paul said.

“If you plan on trading somebody, there’s a time. It’s almost a gamesmanship to it. You’re trying to go a little longer, a little longer, and see the most you can get out of somebody. When you do that, you run a risk; in this case, Anthony Davis gets injured.”

According to several sources, no teams are currently interested in acquiring Davis. With that said, it’s unlikely that we’d see AD suit up for another team this season.

The Mavericks better pray that Davis won’t require surgery for his left hand; otherwise, it’ll be more difficult to let him go during the offseason.
