Al Horford has been out for three games now. The last time Horford played was against the Portland Trail Blazers on Nov. 21. He finished the game after 18 minutes of play, adding seven points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block.
However, the effects of their game against the Blazers resulted in Horford’s injury the following day, which is what’s keeping him from playing to this day. The question now is, will Horford finally make a return to help the Warriors face the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, on Tuesday?

Al Horford Remains Out of Action
Back on Nov. 22, the Warriors announced that Horford will miss at least a week of basketball action due to a right sciatic nerve irritation. This meant that the veteran was expected to miss their next three games after facing the Trail Blazers.
However, it appears that Horford’s period of absence will be extended as Warriors head coach Steve Kerr announces that the big man will miss Tuesday’s game against the Thunder.
“Out of the last three games with sciatica, Al Horford is doubtful to play against the Thunder, Kerr said,” Warriors insider Sam Gordon reported on X. “Horford has been away from the team for a few days with an excused personal absence and is due Tuesday for a workout and subsequent evaluation from the training staff.”

Looking at the Warriors’ current situation, they’re going to need all the help they can get soon if they want to pose a serious threat. Golden State is currently in eighth place in the Western Conference with an 11-10 record.
The Warriors are a couple of losses away from falling to 10th place, given that the Memphis Grizzlies (9th place) and the Trail Blazers (10th place) win their next two games.
With Horford out of the lineup, their defensive reinforcement has been reduced. The veteran big is currently averaging one steal and one block per game. His presence inside the paint undoubtedly plays an important role for his team.
It also doesn’t help that Stephen Curry is also out of action. Curry sustained a right quadriceps contusion and a strained muscle after their game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. The Warriors star is expected to miss a week of basketball action.
Having that in mind, Jimmy Butler III will have to do without a couple of key figures in the lineup. Hopefully, his efforts will be enough to beat the Thunder, who have lost only one game so far this season.
