‘Ain’t Sh*t’ — LeBron James Calls Out 5-Time NBA Champion Who Played With Michael Jordan

LeBron James has taken shots at Ron Harper, the former Bulls star who has taken multiple digs at the Lakers legend.

LeBron James has never been one to stay quiet when provoked, and a recent comment about Dylan Harper gave him the perfect opportunity to take a shot at the one man who has been publicly dismissing his legacy for years.

The target was Ron Harper, the five-time NBA champion and former Michael Jordan teammate who has made it a habit of poking the bear when it comes to James.

This time, the jab came with a compliment for Harper’s son, and the clip has made waves on social media almost immediately.

What’s the Beef Between LeBron James and Ron Harper?

“Dylan is great. I mean, his Daddy ain’t sh*t, but he’s good. I’ll see him when I see him,” LeBron said during a recent Mind the Game episode.

The comment came after Ron Harper was asked during the All-Star Weekend whether he pushed his sons, Dylan and Ron Jr., to pursue basketball at the highest level. Harper’s response carried what many thought was a subtle dig at James’ influence in his own sons’ basketball careers.

“I’m not LeBron James, I’m not going to tell my kids what they have to do. Just enjoy the game,” Harper said.

James did not forget it, and when given an opening to respond, he took it without hesitation.

The back-and-forth is rooted in something much older than All-Star Weekend. Harper has long been one of the most vocal former players in discrediting LeBron’s 2020 NBA championship with the Lakers.

After Kentavious Caldwell-Pope suggested on Dwight Howard’s podcast that the 2020 Lakers could have won two more titles if kept together, Harper fired back on social media with a response that left nothing to the imagination. “The bubble ring is just that! A bubble ring… trash,” Harper posted.

There have been other instances where Harper has expressed his distaste for James’ records. When the Lakers star eclipsed Jordan for the most 30-point games in NBA history, Harper said on X, “How many games did each players play??”

This was his way of indicating that James had played more games than Jordan, another attempt at discrediting what the 4-time champ achieved. That’s not all, Harper Sr. has also delivered some interesting replies on X whenever there was an announcement hyping up James as well.

Harper won three championships alongside Jordan with the Chicago Bulls from 1996 to 1998, and added two more with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal in Los Angeles in 2000 and 2001. That background has given him a platform in the LBJ vs. MJ debate, and he has used it freely.

James averaged 27.7 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.8 assists across 21 games in that 2020 playoff run, closing the Finals with a 28-point triple-double to clinch the title. What matters now is that the Lakers won the chip, James has one more to his career, and Harper’s comments don’t really carry much weight.
