Gordon vs. Thunder: How Did Gordon Perform in Game 2?
With all the surrounding hype, Gordon didn’t disappoint in the first half, shooting at 50% from the field. He scored well with ten points and four assists in the first half. His improvement in three-point shooting became evident as he knocked down 2-2 three-pointers in the first half.
But he had a moment when Alex Caruso and Chet Holmgren blocked his shots in a highlight play for the Thunder. The Nuggets, though, couldn’t handle the offensive arsenal of the Thunder as they pegged Gordon and Co. from the get-go.
He had one block in the first half as he tried to shut down the players from scoring every basket. Yet, Jalen Williams did a fine job with Gordon, not giving him easy looks and making him work for each shot.
But losing Jokić became a critical game-changer as the Nuggets threw the white flag after a dismal performance. Gordon couldn’t get it going like the first half and struggled to regain momentum thereafter.
The Nuggets forward finished the game with ten points, five rebounds, and one assist.
Aaron Gordon vs. Thunder: Head-to-Head Career Stats
With Gordon dominating the headlines recently, he is in the form of his life. After missing out on two contentious Dunk Contest trophies, he worked his socks off to get going and won an NBA title. Looking for his second championship, Gordon’s performance progresses every time he steps on the court.
The Nuggets need him for the series against the Thunder, as he’s averaged 14.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in 27 games. On November 29, 2017, when he plied his trade for the Orlando Magic, he scored 40 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and had four steals in an incredible performance.
Thus, if he could replicate those numbers when the Nuggets face the Thunder, it would do him a world of good.
Likewise, in Game 4 of the playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers, Gordon scored an impressive alley-oop game-winner, to the disbelief of the basketball fraternity. He shot the ball into the basket in 0.1 seconds, and the Clippers couldn’t accept it.
Likewise, in Game 1 against the Thunder, he scored 22 points, 14 rebounds, and his second game-winner in a couple of weeks to improve his stock value.
