76ers legend Allen Iverson joined the sports world in reacting to LeBron James’ decision on Friday to take his talents to Philadelphia.
Iverson couldn’t hold back after the former Los Angeles Lakers forward reportedly agreed to a two-year, $8 million deal to join an already stacked 76ers roster.

James’ “Trust the Process” comment when asked by fans at the Fanatics Fest in New York last week left many wondering if the four-time MVP was cruelly trolling the 76ers’ supporters or giving a hint about his next destination.
As it turned out, the 22-time All-Star gave a major breadcrumb that led to a stunning win for a franchise that hasn’t won the NBA championship in 43 years.
A few hours after James ended his free agency suspense to team up with Joel Embiid and Co., Iverson reacted to the news on Instagram.
“I LOVE LIFE!! GOD don’t play about me and mine.”

Iverson’s heartfelt reaction was unsurprising considering all the heartbreaks the 76ers have gone through since they last won the championship in 1983. The iconic guard led the team to the 2001 NBA Finals but lost 4-1 to the Kobe-Shaq Lakers. Since then, Philly has not reached the same stage.
James seems to be the final piece of the puzzle that could complete the 76ers’ championship aspirations. Early this month, they pulled off the first shocker by acquiring Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics. The 76ers acquired the 2024 NBA Finals MVP and All-NBA guard for the aging, injury-prone Paul George.
Brown adds two-way firepower to a roster that still has former MVP Joel Embiid, All-Star Tyrese Maxey, and emerging star VJ Edgecombe. That core alone was expected to challenge for at least Eastern Conference supremacy.
Now with James joining forces with them, the 76ers might finally have enough to complete what Iverson couldn’t do over two decades ago.

James’ first message as a 76er should be music to Iverson’s ears. The 22-time All-Star emphasized what he intends to accomplish by playing for Philly.
“I believe I can help make the Philadelphia 76ers a championship team, and I am so excited to energize a new fan base and start this incredible journey one last time.
“Thank you, LA. Miami, I’ll forever love, and Northeast Ohio will always be home!” James tweeted.
