76ers Injury Report: Philadelphia Announces Latest on Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey

The Philadelphia 76ers will face the Indiana Pacers next on Friday. Here's the latest on the availability of their stars.

The Philadelphia 76ers have been in an interesting position this season. With a 13-10 record to start the season, the team has managed to stay on track despite missing superstar Joel Embiid for an extended period.

And while injuries continue to plague the team, players like Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe have helped keep fan enthusiasm alive. As Philadelphia prepares for its matchup against the Indiana Pacers, the focus turns to the team’s current injury status.

Philadelphia 76ers Injury Report vs the Indiana Pacers

Despite their depleted roster and ongoing injuries, the 76ers have maintained a strong track record against Eastern Conference contenders. The team is 11-9 in the East, increasing its chances of securing a spot in the upcoming playoffs.

That being said, having Embiid and Maxey on the court certainly improves the team’s odds of winning.
According to the team’s injury report, Embiid — who has been sidelined with left knee injury management — is probable for the game against the Pacers. Maxey, sidelined due to illness, is also listed as probable.
Embiid has averaged 18.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and three assists in nine games this season. Maxey, meanwhile, is averaging 31.5 points, 7.2 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.

Considering their options, the 76ers have a higher chance of victory if Maxey and Embiid play. The Pacers, despite being title contenders last season, have fallen to the No. 14 spot in the East with a 6-18 record. The team has visibly missed Haliburton’s presence on the court, giving the 76ers another chance to solidify their standing.

James Worthy Highlights Maxey’s Impact on the 76ers

In an earlier interview, three-time NBA champion James Worthy spoke about Maxey, highlighting how the young star has elevated his game in Philadelphia. Not only is Maxey a strong player, but he has also emerged as a leader for the 76ers.

“When I knew he was solid, it was when he spoke up. I think Embiid was kind of late for practice sometimes, didn’t show up. And the young kid was like dude, you need to show up and lead us. And that’s when I knew he had the quality and the mental aspect to play the game,” Worthy said.

Worthy’s observation comes from last season’s Sixers, when Maxey openly criticized Embiid’s approach. Embiid, taking it in stride, worked toward improving the team.

The 76ers’ game against the Pacers is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 12, at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.
