The New York Knicks ended a 53-year wait to win the NBA Championship on Saturday as they triumphed over the San Antonio Spurs in five games.

The Knicks showed incredible resilience to triumph in the NBA Finals, overcoming double-digit deficits in all four of their wins over the Spurs.

New York Knicks’ Prize Money Earnings After Winning the NBA Finals

The NBA playoffs had an overall prize money pool of $35.7 million this season, and the New York Knicks will receive a large chunk of this after lifting the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.

The Knicks players will split a reported $9.1 million payout for winning the NBA Finals. In addition, the franchise will also receive $471,000 for finishing as the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference this season.

So, the Knicks will earn around $9.5 million in bonuses for their run during the 2025/26 NBA playoffs. Each player on the Knicks roster will receive approximately $640,000 in bonuses for winning the NBA Championship, although the exact allocation rules remain unknown.

It is worth noting that the players will also receive bonuses outside the NBA prize money pool that may be tied to their contracts.

Meanwhile, the Spurs players will split roughly $3.9 million as the losing team in the NBA Finals.

The Knicks enjoyed a historic run in the NBA playoffs, defeating the Atlanta Hawks in the first round before sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers to secure a spot in the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.

In the NBA Finals, the Knicks faced the Spurs and continued their dominant streak, defeating Victor Wembanyama and co. in just five games.

A win that perfectly defined the Knicks’ run in the NBA playoffs was their Game 4 triumph in the NBA Finals, where they overcame a 29-point deficit in the second half to stun the Spurs in front of a rousing Madison Square Garden.
