Week 13 saw a bit of movement in the AFC East standings. With all four teams having completed their matchups, what do the current AFC East standings look like as of Sunday, Dec. 4, at 11:45 p.m. ET, and how is the weekly playoff picture shaking out after Week 13?
Current AFC East Standings
- Buffalo Bills (9-3)
- Miami Dolphins (8-4)
- New York Jets (7-5)
- New England Patriots (6-6)
AFC East Standings Recap
Buffalo Bills
The Bills kicked off Week 13 with a victory over the Patriots on Thursday Night Football. Josh Allen threw for 223 yards on 22 completions while adding two touchdowns to the stat sheet. Stefon Diggs looked electric as usual, hauling in seven receptions for 92 yards and a touchdown. The Bills will host the Jets in Week 14.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins lost to the 49ers, 33-17, but the final score was not an indicator of just how competitive this game was. QB Tua Tagovailoa threw for 295 yards and two touchdowns, while Tyreek Hill added 146 yards in the air.
Unfortunately, for Miami, Tua was able to get it going a bit too late after struggling in the first half. Miami currently holds the tiebreaker over the Bills, so they’ll look to get back on track in Week 14 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
New York Jets
The Jets almost pulled it off but couldn’t quite close it out in the end despite putting up 486 yards of total offense. QB Mike White finished 31 of 57 for 369 yards. The Vikings’ offense wasn’t necessarily dominant, putting up 287 yards. Up next for the Jets in Week 14 is a road trip to face the Bills. It feels like a must-win game for them to remain alive in the playoff picture.
New England Patriots
The Patriots are running out of answers. They have a quarterback in Mac Jones, who has either plateaued or regressed, an offensive coordinator in Matt Patricia, who seems to be in over his head, and a wide receiver corps that is inconsistent at best. The Patriots, who will have a tough time cracking the AFC playoff race, travel west in Week 14 to face the Arizona Cardinals.
