Who Are Johni Broome’s Siblings John Jr. and Jade’a? Taking a Closer Look at the NBA Draft Prospect’s Family

Johni Broome hopes to hear his name called on draft day. Before that day, here's an inside look at the people he calls his best friends, his siblings.

A five-year collegiate veteran entering the NBA Draft isn’t a typical sighting. But Johni Broome will try to reverse course after a spectacular showing at the collegiate level. This past year, he was a key component to the Auburn Tigers ending up in the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament, putting up over 18 points and close to 11 rebounds per game on the year.

The latest mock draft from PFSN has him as an early second-round pick, landing with the Charlotte Hornets at 33. However, today, we are taking an inside look at the people he grew up with and who he calls his best friends, his siblings.

Johni Broome’s Siblings

Born on July 19, 2002, to Julie Broome and John Broome Sr., in Plant City, Florida, Johni Broome continues the tradition of all Broome family members having the J.A.B initials.

He was born into a family obsessed with football, but his growth spurt, alongside the 280-pound frame, made them pivot with Johni to basketball, where he’s built up a sizeable resume over his high school and college career.

Speaking of the unusual spelling of his name, his mother explained to the Montgomery Advertiser the thought process behind her son’s name. “My husband is John Sr., and my oldest son is John Jr., and when we had Johni, when we knew we was having my second son, we wanted our kids’ names to be unique.”

She added that it was a chance to allow each member to “have their own personality, have their own name, let it be something that you’re not one of many.”

The youngest of three siblings, he shares an extremely warm relationship with his brother, John Broome Jr., and sister, Jade’a Broome.

Who Is Johni Broome’s Brother?

Thanks to his family’s obsession with football, Johni’s elder brother and the eldest of the Broome siblings, John Broome Jr., followed the family passion, going to the FIU Panthers as a two-star recruit.

Playing defensive end, he tallied 19 total tackles over a three-year career that saw him suit up for 28 games.

Who Is Johni Broome’s Sister?

His elder sister and the middle child of the family, Jade’a Broome, is the most private member of the three siblings, with no information available about her to the public. However, Johni has called his two siblings his biggest supporters and best friends over the years.
