Jaylen Brown Shares Candid Take on Celtics’ Shocking 0-2 Disadvantage vs. Knicks

Jaylen Brown reacts to the Boston Celtics’ tough 0-2 series hole against the New York Knicks with a defiant message.

The Boston Celtics didn’t expect this. Two games into their second-round showdown with the New York Knicks, they find themselves staring at a 0-2 hole. Game 2 was there for the taking — until it wasn’t. A late-game twist and some clutch defense from New York snatched the win right out of Boston’s hands.

Now, with momentum slipping away and the next two games in Madison Square Garden, the Celtics are facing a critical turning point in their playoff journey. But Jaylen Brown isn’t panicking just yet.

Jaylen Brown Keeps Faith Despite Crushing Loss vs. New York Knicks

Game 2 came down to the wire, and Boston was inches away from evening the series. But a clutch steal by Mikal Bridges in the dying seconds sealed the Knicks’ 91-90 win, putting the Celtics in a tough spot heading into Game 3.

After the heartbreaking loss, Brown didn’t sugarcoat the moment, but his message was clear: it’s far from over.

“It’s an opportunity to show what we’re made of. Obviously, we wouldn’t like to be in this position, but we’re here now, so we gotta go respond,” Brown said postgame.

The Celtics guard also praised his team’s resilience, adding, “Obviously, being down 2-0 sucks, but we got a great group, and if I had to select any guys to get it done, it’s the group that we have in our locker room.”

Brown finished the game with 20 points, six rebounds, and one assist. The Celtics did make some adjustments from Game 1, tightening up their perimeter defense and limiting the Knicks’ three-point looks. But their own shooting woes continued. They hit just 10 of 40 from deep, barely edging out New York’s 9-of-31 effort.

Magic Johnson Credits Knicks’ Grit and Role Players for Game 2 Win

While Jalen Brunson hit a key free throw to put New York ahead in the final minute, the Knicks’ supporting cast truly turned the tide.

NBA legend Magic Johnson summed it up best:

“The biggest reason the Knicks won was because the three role players stepped up this game—Josh Hart had 23 points, Karl-Anthony Towns had 21, and Mikal Bridges notched the game-ending block and 14 points to seal the victory. Their mindset to never give up came to fruition, and they beat the Celtics 91-90.”

Mikal Bridges’ fourth-quarter heroics were also crucial in the Knicks’ victory. He scored all 14 of his points in the final frame while stripping Jayson Tatum in the final seconds to deny Boston a last-gasp shot at the win.

With the series shifting to New York and the Garden crowd ready to roar, Boston must dig deep to flip the script.
