That timeline would put his potential return around the All-Star break or shortly after, but the 23-year-old would likely need time to ramp back up. Sharpe is a lottery pick in the 2022 NBA Draft and has established himself as one of Portland’s top shot creators and one of the NBA’s most explosive athletes.

However, a league source told The Athletic that Portland will wait for a further evaluation before determining Sharpe’s definitive recovery timeline.
Sharpe was expected to play a significant role off the bench for Portland in the upcoming season. His absence could push the Blazers toward smaller lineups more frequently, potentially featuring combinations of Ja Morant, Scoot Henderson, Damian Lillard, and Jrue Holiday. Vít Krejčí and Sidy Cissoko could also see their minutes increase while Sharpe is sidelined.
Unfortunately, injuries have been a recurring issue throughout Sharpe’s career, as he missed 28 games last season due to a stress reaction in his left fibula. During his second season in the 2023-24 campaign, he appeared in just 32 games due to an abdominal injury, triggering reactions from many.
