The script has undoubtedly flipped the most for the Philadelphia 76ers as far as the NBA offseason is concerned. The season ended for the 76ers in familiar fashion as Joel Embiid battled injury issues in a 4-0 sweep handed out by the eventual champions, the New York Knicks.
However, the 76ers have responded by adding LeBron James and Jaylen Brown to a roster that already boasted two All-Stars in addition to VJ Edgecombe. And well, the new era looks set to kickstart as Brown and LeBron linked up for their first offseason workout with none other than Tyrese Maxey.

There is little doubt that this new-look 76ers team has immediately become one of the prime title contenders for the upcoming season, at least on paper.
Philadelphia was knocked out of the Eastern Conference semifinals last season after failing to make the postseason in 2024-25, and their biggest issue has been the consistent injury absences of Joel Embiid.
However, with Embiid understood to be fit and preparing for the upcoming campaign, LeBron and Brown appear to have wasted little time linking up with Maxey for the group’s first offseason workout.
The three superstars posed for multiple photos during a workout that was also attended by noted skills development trainer Chris Johnson, who posted the images on X.
The images feature a topless Brown looking on as Maxey pulls a layup, with all three stars also evidently taking part in shooting practice as they prepare for the new season. Johnson posted the following caption alongside the pictures:
“New era, new energy. 👑
[LeBron James] [Tyrese Maxey] [Jaylen Brown]. Let’s get it.”

Of course, fans might still be concerned, considering Embiid does not seem to have attended the workout. The franchise star has missed over three seasons’ worth of games since arriving in Philadelphia way back in 2014, and suffered multiple minor knocks last season as well.
He ended up playing limited minutes in the series against the Boston Celtics after undergoing a late appendicitis surgery, but is reportedly nearing full fitness as he prepares for the upcoming campaign.
76ers fans will have their fingers crossed as a fully fit Embiid lends the team a genuinely scary look, despite concerns about the individual stars’ usage rates.
LeBron’s arrival will undoubtedly shake things up, with rumors about the 76ers intending to use him at the point guard position. However, with their biggest stars already looking to build chemistry, the 76ers can be expected to find the right solutions to get the most out of the depth of talent they now possess.
