Many questioned what would happen to the bond between James and Austin Reaves. So when a new video surfaced recently featuring both, the NBA world exhaled.

Golf content account “bobdoesports” recently posted a video on X featuring James, Reaves, and Bronny James, with the King seen chatting with his former Lakers teammate.

The brief interaction was enough to send the NBA world into reaction mode.
Ever since Luka Dončić arrived in Los Angeles back in 2025, the league’s storyline shifted with fans and analysts framing Dončić and James as the Lakers’ duo of the future.
But when LBJ returned from a slow start to the 2025-26 season, a different chemistry took center stage which was built between James and Reaves themselves. So when James departed for Philadelphia in July, plenty of fans feared that camaraderie would simply fade into memory.
This video eased those nerves. It has also revived an old debate, with one influencer bluntly arguing that Dončić’s arrival kept James and Reaves from ever fully cementing their bond in the first place.

Another influencer celebrated the reunion by commenting, “Goat James [handshake emoji] GOAT Reaves.”
The reaction was accompanied by a GIF from a December 2024 game between the Lakers and Golden State Warriors, which Los Angeles won 115-113. The clip captured a memorable postgame moment between James and Reaves. That highlighted the connection the two had developed during their time together.

One influencer even jokingly nominated Reaves, LBJ, and “bobdoessports” producer Jensen Curtis as basketball’s newest “Big 3.”

While most users focused on the lasting bond between Reaves and James, one fan took a completely different approach. Instead of reminiscing about their friendship, the user directly called on Reaves to bring James back to the Lakers.
