‘I Don’t Wanna Get Knocked Out’ – Pat Riley Takes Hilarious Dig at Bam Adebayo After Heat Star’s Fight With Tyler Herro

Pat Riley admits he almost forgot to mention Bam Adebayo among Heat legends, joking about it after his Tyler Herro scuffle.

Bam Adebayo recently got into an altercation with former Miami Heat teammate Tyler Herro. The pair were in Las Vegas for the Summer League when Adebayo confronted Herro about the latter’s comments on social media.

It seems Herro took aim at the Heat big man over his contributions on the floor with reference to his lucrative contract during a conversation with a Heat fan. This didn’t sit well with Adebayo, who allegedly struck Herro in the face. While the NBA has concluded that there will be no further investigation, Heat president Pat Riley sees the funny side of it.

Pat Riley Jokes About Bam Adebayo’s Altercation

Giannis Antetokounmpo landed in Miami today and was introduced as a Heat player for the first time. That was when Riley was discussing the franchise’s greatest icons, but forgot to mention one name: Adebayo.

He immediately corrected himself, “I don’t want to get knocked out… Bam was one of those guys that came in here, too.”

Herro, now with the Bucks, told ESPN he wants to “move past all of it” and is focused on Milwaukee. “Honestly, I’m just trying to move past all of it,” he said. “I’m focused on Milwaukee and building something special.”

We all know Riley can be a strict leader behind the scenes, as we have witnessed with numerous players over the years. He runs a tight ship, but it is quite surprising that he sees the funny side of the viral altercation between Adebayo and Herro.

Obviously, the Adebayo-Herro clash would be fun to see the next time they face each other.

With that said, it is no surprise that Riley chose to include Adebayo in the list of Heat icons. He’s a three-time All-Star and has been named to the All-NBA Defensive Second Team five times so far. Adding on to that, Adebayo has also been in the conversation for the DPOY award constantly, and it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he wins it.

The 2024 Olympic gold medalist also put up 83 points earlier this year and has proven that he is a force to be reckoned with on both ends of the floor. While he has not had a great supporting cast so far, that’s where Antetokounmpo comes in.

The possibility of the two leading the Heat frontcourt has already excited fans. Provided Miami stays healthy, they can make a deep postseason run and battle with their Eastern Conference rivals, something they failed to do in recent years.
