The Golden State Warriors’ pursuit of LeBron James has defined their offseason so far, but the decision has dragged into mid-July with no resolution in sight. James has attracted interest from plenty of teams since letting the Los Angeles Lakers know he wouldn’t be returning.
Now, it is no secret that the Warriors would like to welcome James to the Bay, and Stephen Curry has also now sent a message to the four-time champ.
Stephen Curry Makes a Recruiting Pitch to LeBron James
The Warriors sharpshooter recently got on Good Morning America and spoke about what could possibly be appealing to James. He spoke about the city, their basketball style, the culture, and everything else.
“The Bay, we know how to win, beautiful weather, great golf. I know he’s into that. But like you said, the USA experience that we had, the battles that we had over the years, we just know how to play basketball,” Curry said.

“And I think that he’ll enjoy just the idea of what it means to finish your career the right way. He knows what he wants, and eventually he’ll make that decision. It’s totally up to him, but we’re having fun with it, knowing that he’s got his pick of the entire league, wherever he wants to go, to be honest,” the Warriors guard added.
James has spent a significant portion of his free agency on the golf course, and Rich Paul mentioned the golf angle specifically when discussing the Warriors’ appeal on his Game Over podcast.
Draymond Green has been doing his part away from the cameras. The Warriors star revealed on his podcast that he spent several days with James on a golf trip during free agency and made his own pitch in person.
The combined effort from Curry and Green reflects how seriously Golden State is taking this pursuit, even as ESPN’s Shams Charania has reported that the Warriors are not viewed as a frontrunner. It’s reported that Anthony Davis would be a key piece for the Warriors to lure James to the Bay.
With that said, there’s a chance that James makes a decision to play with his longtime rival as well. We all know what the duo did for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics. Only time will tell if we will get to see the two greatest players of this generation on the same team for one last dance.
