If the suspense from the LeBron James free agency sweepstakes is killing you, you’re not alone. Even NBA players are ready for the latest chapter in this saga to be written.
James has been a free agent for exactly two weeks as of Tuesday. He still doesn’t know where he wants to play his 24th season? Some are skeptical, and others are just plain sick of waiting. Just tell us already!
Suns Player Tired of Waiting on LeBron James’ Decision 2.0
Super agent Rich Paul is once again leading the charge, taking time to gather recruiting pitches from each of the respective teams with interest. Reports suggest that anywhere from three to five teams are still in the running to sign James.
Those teams are, in alphabetical order, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Philadelphia 76ers.
In other words, not the Phoenix Suns.
So, why does Dillon Brooks, who’s entering the final season of his four-year, $86 million contract with Phoenix, care about when James decides on his next team?
Brooks became the latest NBA figure to provide his two cents on James’ next move. His take? Just make a decision already.
“This is me saying, LeBron, come back for one more year. You know what I’m saying? Come back for one more year man. Stop all this waiting [expletive].”
There’s been no indication that James is considering retirement rather than extending his NBA career to 24 seasons. Yet Brooks seems to be having fun with the situation nonetheless.
Meanwhile, when it came time for Brooks to make a prediction on which team James would take his talent to next, he picked “Golden State.”

It’s not a bad prediction, especially considering such a move would allow the four-time champion to remain in California, where he and his family have made home. There’s also the allure of getting to play alongside another future Hall of Famer in Stephen Curry.
Brooks hasn’t been teammates with James before, but he has been in the NBA for nine seasons, competing against him. Who knows? Maybe he’s picked up a few insights along the way, ones that could give him an inside track to guessing the basketball icon’s next move.
Or maybe he’s just like you and me, waiting for the next report from Shams Charania, revealing where James will play next. The entire NBA world is waiting for the next update in the James free agency sweepstakes, but only he may know what the future holds.
