‘I Was Taken Back by It’ — 3-Time NBA Champion Shares Brutally Honest Reaction to Bam Adebayo-Tyler Herro Altercation

After being teammates for seven seasons, Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo got in a fight. Now a 3-time NBA champion has reacted to the scuffle.

Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo were teammates on the Miami Heat for seven seasons. Both became All-Stars for the first time while playing alongside one another, going from raw first-round picks to franchise cornerstones.

Yet, the Heat recently broke this star duo up when they sent Herro as part of a bigger package to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Somehow, somewhere along the way, Herro and Adebayo appear to have developed a beef. Recently, the two sides came to blows, with Adebayo reportedly striking Herro in the face, leaving a mark below his eye. Now, a three-time NBA champion is chiming in with his take on the scuffle.

Danny Green Surprised By Tyler Herro- Bam Adebayo Scrum

Not long after word emerged of the Herro-Adebayo battle, three-time NBA champion-turned-analyst Danny Green added his analysis during a live stream.

Green said that while the whole event was unexpected, knowing that Adebayo was involved? Not all that surprising, but he felt like the duo could have gone about things a different way.

“When I saw the news I was like ‘What? That can’t be real’… I can see Bam checking somebody. Bam is a real dude. ‘You have something to say? Yo, say it to my face. You can talk to me about it if we have some issues. Let me know what’s up.’ I don’t know the extent of it but I was taken back by it,” Green said.

“The incident took place at a gym inside the Resorts World Casino in front of Herro’s AAU team. According to multiple sources who witnessed the incident and were granted anonymity to discuss a sensitive matter, Adebayo walked onto the courts, and Herro said something to him. Adebayo proceed to walk over to Herro and, without hesitation, punch him… Both players left the scene on their own,” The Athletic reported.

Meanwhile, there’s now a possibility that the Heat, especially Adebayo, could face discipline from the NBA over his actions.

Per ESPN’s Charania, the NBA players’ union could get involved in the matter.

“There was a strike to the face area, and now we’ll see how much the league, the players union, what involvement they’re going to have here in the coming days,” Charania reported.

The Heat traded for Antetokounmpo, hoping he, along with Adebayo, could help catapult the team back into NBA Finals contention.

Obviously, not having their star big man for a portion of the season wouldn’t help accomplish those goals.
