President Donald Trump is planning to be in attendance at Madison Square Garden for Game 3 of the 2026 NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs. Trump will be a guest of Knicks owner James Dolan at the game.
While there have been mixed reactions about Trump attending an NBA Finals game, one Knicks player had an interesting reaction.

Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson Offers Thoughts on Donald Trump, NBA Finals
On Friday, Legion Hoops’ account on X shared Robinson’s comment on a TikTok post.
“Mitchell Robinson on TikTok:” the account wrote while sharing Robinson’s TikTok comment. The TikTok was a clip of Allen Iverson’s iconic crossover against Michael Jordan in 1997.

In the text over the image, it reads, “How Mitchell Robinson about to be moving with Trump in attendance for Game 3.” In response, Robinson replied, “You ain’t lying brother.”
Trump attended some games when he lived in New York City, but he now lives at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., the White House.
Robinson and the Knicks are playing Game 2 on Friday night at Frost Bank Center against the Spurs in San Antonio, Texas. Knicks fans hope that their team can get out of San Antonio with a 2-0 lead before they hit Madison Square Garden.
One part of Robinson’s game that is not improving is his free-throw shooting. He’s just not good, but he makes up for that with tough play down low and muscling in for his points. In the 2025-26 NBA regular season, Robinson averaged 5.7 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game.
Robinson shot 72.3% from the floor, too. He obviously made his presence felt on the defensive end when he’s able to grab rebounds or take opponents off their game. He will be an effective player on defense.
Any points that he can add for the Knicks, despite being an awful free-throw shooter, will be welcome by Knicks head coach Mike Brown.
But the Knicks, while they might have to put up with some things with Trump reportedly set to attend, will focus on Game 3 against the Spurs. The series will either be tied 1-1 or the Knicks will return to Madison Square Garden with a 2-0 lead.
