Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals was supposed to be a desperate stand for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, a dismal performance from the Cavs culminated in a 121-108 loss, giving the New York Knicks a 3-0 series lead and leaving the basketball world stunned.

Cavaliers’ ‘Embarrassing’ Game 3 Effort Against the Knicks Leaves Cleveland Seeking Answers
The Cavaliers showed no fight when the season demanded it most.
After a shocking Game 1 in which the team surrendered a 22-point fourth-quarter lead in an overtime loss, the emotional foundation of this roster finally seemed to crumble during Saturday night’s Game 3 no-show.
The crowd inside Rocket Arena watched a lifeless Cleveland just go through the motions. They allowed New York to operate with absolute freedom.
The Cavs’ defensive rotations were slow, the closeouts were lazy, and the body language was far from that of a team trying to remain competitive in a conference final.
The frustration boiled over, and analysts and fans alike were not hesitant to slam a Cleveland roster that looked like it had quit on the game and its ECF hopes.
“The Cavaliers look like they quit. Why even bother showing up for Game 4? Totally embarrassing,” Kevin O’Connor posted.

“The New York Knicks made the Cavs quit,” Robert Griffin III said.
Head coach Kenny Atkinson watched his team fail to match New York’s physical intensity for the third consecutive game. The Cavaliers were outrebounded, outhustled, and outclassed.

Donovan Mitchell managed 23 points but required 21 shots to get there. He turned the ball over 5 times and struggled to string together positive possessions.
James Harden had 6 turnovers in 41 minutes, looking completely detached from the offense and defense during critical stretches.
New York, meanwhile, continued to look every bit like a championship contender. The Knicks have played great basketball on both ends of the floor.
With their depth, discipline, and defensive intensity, the Knicks have overwhelmed and outmatched the Cavaliers right since the opening tip in Game 1.
Jalen Brunson continued to dominate the matchup, carving up the Cleveland backcourt for 30 points and 6 assists.
Mikal Bridges was equally ruthless with his two-way efficiency, dropping 22 points and grabbing 6 boards, suffocating Cleveland’s threats before punishing them on the other end.
New York has outscored Cleveland by 40 points over the first three games of this series, leaving the Cavaliers with an impossible hill to climb.
Game 4 tips off Monday night and gives the Knicks a chance to sweep and earn some much-deserved rest ahead of the Finals.
As far as Cleveland is concerned, the team looks ready for the offseason to begin.
