‘Pure Comedy’ — NBA World Reacts to Dillon Brooks’ Board Game Roasting Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Foul-Baiting

Dillon Brooks' board game dig at Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's alleged foul-baiting provides comic relief for the NBA community.

Phoenix Suns wing Dillon Brooks called out Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s playstyle during their first-round Western Conference playoff series, dubbing the Oklahoma City Thunder superstar “a little frail.”

Brooks also went on a rant about officiating in the series, arguing that postseason basketball should be more physical and not decided at the free-throw line. However, his gripes did not help the Suns, who were decisively swept by the Thunder, seemingly leaving the nine-year veteran bitter.

Dillon Brooks’ Creative Roast of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Foul-Baiting Cracks Up NBA World

Brooks, known in NBA circles as “Dillon the Villain,” lived up to his nickname once again on Thursday, even with his team out of the running for this year’s NBA title. The 30-year-old appeared in a 54-second Underdog video opening an “Unethical Hoops” Operation-style board game featuring Gilgeous-Alexander and the various body parts he could use to bait opponents into committing fouls.

Brooks attempted to remove the small balls from the holes using sensor-sensitive tweezers. However, when he touched any part of Gilgeous-Alexander’s body while doing so, an alarm sounded, signaling a “foul.”

The game mimics Gilgeous-Alexander receiving whistles from referees, as the reigning back-to-back MVP is one of the best at drawing contact, albeit often with divisive techniques.

The NBA world did not let Brooks’ humor go unnoticed. An expert mock draft grader who goes by the X handle @MileHighGreco said Brooks’ comedic act won him over.

“Lmao, this is pure comedy. Dillon Brooks making me a fan 😂😭,” the user wrote.

An avid sports supporter also considered it telling that so many fans delighted in Brooks roasting his fellow countryman.

“You REALLY have to be hated for fans to enjoy Dillon Brooks making fun of you 😂,” the observer said.

FightNews.com hilariously noted that Brooks has embraced his role as an antagonist to NBA superstars.

“The villain is living up to his name. 😭,” the outlet wrote.

Another NBA enthusiast was amused that Brooks showed no emotion while interacting with Gilgeous-Alexander’s cartoon image.

“Him doing all this with a straight face is killing me, dawg 🤣,” the user said.

Brooks has thrived as a player who makes life miserable for opposing stars through his gritty play, tenacious defense, and frequent trash-talking.

His style has proven effective, as he has repeatedly gotten into the heads of big-name players, causing them to make uncharacteristic mistakes. This has earned him recognition as one of the top defensive players in the NBA.

Still, Gilgeous-Alexander had a field day at the foul line in the Thunder’s first-round sweep of the Suns. The superstar guard was awarded 49 free throws in the series and made 44 of them, giving Oklahoma City a major edge.

Brooks will have to wait until the start of the 2026-27 season to seek revenge on Gilgeous-Alexander and hope that his physical play won’t result in excessive foul calls.
