The Detroit Pistons got the better of the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Friday night to extend their season and force a Game 7.
While the Pistons executed a flawless game plan in their 115-94 win, NBA fans watching at home were not so pleased with the broadcast featuring Candace Parker and Dwyane Wade.
Dwyane Wade-Candace Parker Broadcast Booth Draws Heavy Criticism
Throughout Friday’s elimination game between the Pistons and Cavaliers, many fans claimed the viewing experience on Amazon Prime Video was marred by Parker and Wade’s struggles to offer astute analysis and commentary.
Pairing two basketball legends with one of the sport’s most iconic play-by-play voices in Kevin Harlan looked great on paper.
However, this setup failed to impress viewers, with one user bluntly stating, “I respect them both a ton as players.. but I think I’d rather listen to literal static coming through my speakers than this Dwyane Wade and Candace Parker broadcast team.”

Meanwhile, another user added, “Dwyane Wade should steer clear from announcing games.”

“Candace Parker and Dwyane Wade have to be the most unsufferable announcing duo in history. Candace Parker: ‘this game got away when the Cavs stopped scoring.’ I mean seriously??” another user posted.

“Good Lord are Wade and Parker bad. Poor Kevin Harlan,” one user remarked.
“Dwayne Wade isn’t a good fit to be calling games. Another example of just because you played the game doesn’t mean you can hop in the booth,” Brandon Little wrote.
“D Wade is a truly remarkably awful announcer. Good lord. Legend. But just shouldn’t be doing this,” Andrew Nemec posted.

Viewer backlash has steadily built since the opening round of the playoffs, as the two had faced criticism during the Denver Nuggets-Minnesota Timberwolves series as well.
While the commentary struggled to find its footing, the Pistons had no such issues. Cade Cunningham orchestrated the offense with precision, recording 21 points and 8 assists in 42 minutes of action.
Cunningham was consistently finding gaps in the Cavaliers’ defense while going 7-for-19 from the field.
For Cleveland, James Harden led the way with 23 points and 7 rebounds. But the turnover woes continued, as he recorded a game-high 8 turnovers, and the Cavaliers struggled to find any rhythm.
The series now shifts back to Little Caesars Arena for a decisive Game 7, and Cleveland must address its turnover issues and find a way to contain Cunningham if it hopes to advance.
