The Minnesota Timberwolves will look to take a big step towards making the Western Conference Finals when they face the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Ahead of tip-off, all eyes will be on whether Anthony Edwards suits up for Game 2.
The Timberwolves stunned San Antonio in the opening game of the series, led by a Herculean effort from Edwards. The guard managed to play despite dealing with hyperextension and a bone bruise in his left knee.

Anthony Edwards Injury Update: Will the Timberwolves Guard Play in Game 2 vs. the Spurs?
Edwards is officially listed as questionable on the injury report for Game 2 of the Timberwolves-Spurs series. The 24-year-old played through the pain barrier in Game 1, finishing with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists in 25 minutes off the bench.
He shot 8-of-13 from the field and was on the floor in crunch time to help the Timberwolves claim a vital road win.
It will be interesting to see whether the Timberwolves limit Edwards’ minutes in Game 2, especially with a road win already in the bag. A final decision on his availability will likely be made closer to the tip-off.
Edwards’ return in Game 1 came as a surprise to many, considering he missed Games 5 and 6 of the Timberwolves’ first-round series against the Denver Nuggets, and was expected to be sidelined for around two weeks.
Minnesota head coach Chris Finch heaped praise on Edwards after his Game 1 heroics.
“He’s done an incredible job, and our medical staff has done an unbelievable job of getting him to this point. He was super motivated by the fact we were able to get that first series. I think that was a little bit of an inspiration for him, too,” he said.
Finch also noted on Tuesday that Edwards had come through well from Game 1, boosting hopes that he could play a similar number of minutes in Game 2.
In addition to Edwards, the Timberwolves will also be sweating on Ayo Dosunmu’s fitness. He is dealing with a calf injury. Meanwhile, Donte DiVincenzo remains sidelined after rupturing his Achilles.
Amid all the injuries, Mike Conley and Terrence Shannon Jr. formed the starting backcourt duo for the Timberwolves in Game 1. They combined for 28 points on 9-of-21 shooting.
Game 2 of the Timberwolves-Spurs series is scheduled to tip-off tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET. Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs will be desperate to level the series before heading to Minnesota for the next two games.
