Controversial comments from Jaylen Brown following a disappointing first-round playoff exit have pushed the Boston fanbase to a breaking point. Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady recently added fuel to the fire by hinting at deep-rooted issues between Brown and the Boston franchise.

After the Celtics blew a 3-1 series lead and were eliminated by the Philadelphia 76ers, Brown took a shot at the officiating during a livestream a day after Boston’s 100-109 Game 7 loss.
“Flopping has ruined our game,” Brown said. “Joel Embiid is a great player. One of the best bigs… Flops. He knows it… I don’t know if it’s because I pissed the refs off. I’ve been critical about them, and I called them out a bunch of times… It’s clearly an agenda.”
This scathing rant drew backlash from fans and also earned him a $50,000 fine from the league.
Speaking to Vince Carter, McGrady offered his perspective on the situation and defended Brown’s frustration with the officiating standards.
“I felt like he’s been targeted this year,” McGrady said. “So he has a right, you know, to feel that way. If you watch some of the games and some of the calls that’s been called on him versus what we see from other guys… So I stand with him on that.”
McGrady then revealed that there has been brewing tension between Brown and the Boston front office that predates this current playoff disaster.
“I think his frustration lies deeply in the organization and other things that we don’t really have the details to. There’s just been a lot of stuff that I’ve been hearing, just going on with the Boston organization with JB.”
McGrady’s revelations did not sit well with Celtics fans, who were already upset with the team’s shocking playoff exit. One user wrote, “Yeah it’s over. Trade him.”

The front office faces an immense offseason to-do list. The organization must now decide whether to repair a fractured relationship with Brown or immediately explore the trade market.
