LeBron James and Bronny James got a chance to continue their unprecedented father-son dynamic during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 137-130 road win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
While Bronny’s strong two-way effort alongside his pops made waves, former NBA All-Star Jeff Teague couldn’t help but express jealousy over one of their first-half interactions, taking a playful dig at his own “daddy.”

While Bronny is still carving out his NBA career in Year 2, splitting his time between the G League and LA, LeBron has further defied Father Time in his record-extending 22nd All-Star campaign.
After providing steady production with the Lakers’ G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, Bronny received a shot in LA’s rotation on Wednesday, and didn’t disappoint. The sophomore guard provided a defensive spark early before throwing down an emphatic one-handed dunk and hitting a momentum-shifting pull-up midrange jumper in the fourth quarter.
LeBron also delivered multiple highlights amid his 23-point night, including an and-one poster jam over Pacers center Jay Huff early in the second quarter, after which he dapped up Bronny.
Upon reviewing the game recap during Thursday’s edition of the “Club 520 Podcast,” Teague jokingly wondered aloud why his father, Shawn, couldn’t have followed a similar trajectory as LeBron.
While Teague played 12 years in the NBA, his dad never made it to the big leagues despite enjoying a solid four-season college basketball career at Missouri and Boston University.
“I ain’t going to lie, that’s hard. You shake your son hand in the game. ‘Yeah, Pops.’ Man, my Daddy sad, man,” Teague quipped.
The unexpected remark left Teague’s podcast co-hosts in stitches as they began to poke fun at the age gap between him and his old man.
“Honestly, I don’t even think your daddy would’ve been in the league by the time you got [drafted],” Bishop B Henn pointed out.
“He had me at 32. Pops would’ve been 54,” Teague responded, later comparing the hypothetical situation to New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing’s lackluster end-of-career stint with the Orlando Magic.

As for Bronny, not only does he get to experience LeBron’s late-career arc firsthand, he is still seeking to catch up to the 41-year-old’s elite play level for the Western Conference’s third seed (47-26).
Regardless, Bronny and LeBron appear to be relishing every moment they get to spend on the floor together, with the latter’s NBA future still undecided beyond Year 23.
