Stephen Curry is already considered to be one of the all-time greats. Over 17 seasons of playing in the NBA, Curry has notched four championships, two MVP awards, and 12 All-Star selections.
While many fans guarantee his spot in the Basketball Hall of Fame one day, it seems that a fellow legend feels the same way about the Golden State Warriors star. Boston Celtics legend Robert Parish recently shared his thoughts on Curry and how the Warriors helped change the league’s landscape.

Back in 2009, Curry made his way to the league after getting drafted by the Warriors. While he already showed promise as a young guard in the NBA, it wasn’t until the 2013-14 season that he realized his goal of becoming a star.
During the early 2010s, Curry and his longtime teammate, Klay Thompson, arguably reshaped the league and the way the game was played. The duo of Curry and Thompson was dubbed the “Splash Brothers.” The reason was due to their extremely accurate 3-point shooting.
Thompson was a more traditional 3-point shooter, taking shots from the usual distance. Meanwhile, Curry kicked it up a notch and showed the entire world his limitless range. This led the Warriors to become a more 3-point shooting-oriented team.
Apparently, this caught the attention of Celtics legend Parish. In a recent interview with the former four-time champion, Parish acknowledged how it was thanks to Curry and the Warriors that the league is the way it is today.
“Not to mention guys able to move more freely because of the game that’s less physical than it used to be when I was playing,” Parish said. “And I think that was a big difference. And also, you gotta recognize that whoever wins the championship, that’s the blueprint on how to win a championship. And that’s the way the Warriors won their championship. A free-flowing, up-tempo style of basketball.”
“And, of course, you’ve got to give Stephen Curry credit,” Parish added. “I think he changed, or helped change. He and Klay Thompson, how the game is played, how the NBA is played and officiated today. And I’m going to say that Stephen Curry and company revolutionized basketball. It looks the way it looks today in how basketball is played. You can put it at the feet of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.”
Despite already being 38, Curry remains one of the deadliest shooters in the league today. While his percentages from deep might have dropped, with the number of threes he attempts, one of them is bound to go in, still making him a mandatory cover on defense.
