Stephen Curry has been a free agent in the sneaker market for approximately four months now. It was a shocking turn of events when we learned that Curry and Under Armour had decided to part ways. Since then, Curry has been wearing several different brands of basketball shoes. This is mainly due to his trying to find the right fit for his Curry Brand.
After months of trying several shoe brands, it seems like the Golden State Warriors star is nearing his decision. Curry is currently one of the frontrunners to become ANTA’s next signature basketball shoe model. While nothing has been finalized yet, ANTA signature player Kyrie Irving shared his thoughts on Curry potentially joining the family.
Kyrie Irving Vaguely Confirms Stephen Curry Joining ANTA
While Nike and Adidas are often viewed as among the best brands for basketball shoes, Asian brands like ANTA are slowly coming into their own. ANTA currently has NBA stars like Irving, Klay Thompson, and Gordon Hayward, among others, representing its brand.
With the ANTA family slowly growing, it appears that they have room for another big star. In a recent interview, Irving indirectly confirmed that Curry might be signing with ANTA.
“It’s not common for someone like Steph to wear another person’s signature shoes. But what he’s doing right now has shed a beautiful light on what’s coming in the shoewear industry. I feel like ANTA’s the best. I’m going on record to say that ANTA is the best shoe brand out there. I’m glad that Steph found that he could have success with our shoes.”

While everyone should take Irving’s statement with a grain of salt, it would be odd for the Dallas Mavericks star to make a statement about someone who hasn’t signed with the company yet.
However, despite no confirmation from either ANTA or Curry, all signs point to the Warriors star’s potential deal with the company.
Last February, Curry was spotted working out with Irving and the WNBA’s Sabrina Ionescu. What caught everyone’s attention during their workout session was the pair of shoes Curry wore.
An image of Curry wearing a pair of ANTAs with his Curry Brand logo on it quickly went viral on social media, with some speculating that the Warriors star is now with the shoe company.
