NBA Legend Carmelo Anthony Made His Feelings Clear About The Denver Nuggets

NBA legend Carmelo Anthony spoke about his former team (the Denver Nuggets).

Carmelo Anthony is one of the best forwards in NBA history.

The Hall of Famer spent the first seven and a half seasons of his career playing for the Denver Nuggets.

In that span, Anthony had averages of 24.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest while shooting 45.9% from the field in 564 games.

Carmelo Anthony Made His Feelings Clear About The Denver Nuggets

Recently, Anthony was asked about his former franchise.

Anthony (via Vic Lombardi of AltitudeTV): “I’ll be there soon… I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been looking forward to coming to Denver for a long time… I don’t know what is there to fix… I love Denver.”

Anthony helped lead the Nuggets to the 2009 Western Conference finals (before losing to Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers who won the title).

He had left the Nuggets during a very public trade deadline acquisition by the New York Knicks.

The New Jersey Nets had also been one of the teams trying to land him during the middle of the 2010-11 season.

Anthony was the third pick in the 2003 NBA Draft after one season of college basketball (where he won the National Championship at Syracuse).

He also spent time with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers (in addition to the Knicks and Nuggets).

His career averages were 22.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.0 steals per contest while shooting 44.7% from the field and 35.5% from three-point range in 1,260 games.

As for the Nuggets, they won the 2023 NBA Championship over the Miami Heat.

They are currently the third seed in the Western Conference with a 35-20 record in 55 games.

On Thursday night, the Nuggets will resume action when they visit Kawhi Leonard and the LA Clippers.
