Brandon Miller contributed 24 points (8-18 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block over 36 minutes during the 110-104 loss tonight. The first-round draft pick from 2023 has averaged 20.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game this year.
After the fight began, Stewart ran onto the court from the sidelines to join the brawl. Following this decision, he was ejected and is expected to face a suspension according to NBA rules. The Pistons’ player also has a previous history.
According to the Official NBA Rule No. 12 for Fouls and Penalties, “During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the immediate vicinity of their bench. Violators will be subject to suspension, without pay, for a minimum of one game and fined up to $50,000. The suspensions will commence before their next game.
Stewart, who is currently on a four-year 60$ million deal, has a history of violence in the league. In 2024, he was suspended for three games for punching Drew Eubanks, who was playing for the Phoenix Suns at the time. He was also reportedly arrested for assault.
“You don’t expect me to just sit on the bench.” Stewart was videoed leaving the game after his dismissal. At this point in time, the Pistons’ player is the most likely aggressor facing a suspension.
Bridges also has his own history. On April 14, 2023, Bridges was suspended from the NBA for 30 games without pay due to a domestic violence incident. It remains to be seen whether further disciplinary action will follow his actions tonight.
Bridges exited the game with six points (1-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, and one assist over 20 minutes. This season, the Hornets’ player has averaged 18.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.
Additionally, four players were ejected, and Hornets’ head coach Charles Lee was also ejected during the brawl. Lee was sent to the locker room following a heated exchange with official John Goble. Potential disciplinary actions will most likely be revealed in the coming days.
