Here’s what people were saying about the deal:

@BrettSiegelNBA: “A strong relationship between Hawks’ GM Onsi Saleh and Warriors’ GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. helped this deal come together. Porzingis has long been on the Warriors’ radar dating back to 2023, plus Kuminga has a strong bond with Saleh.”

@TheWarriorsTalk: “Rick Celebrini gonna earn that paycheck this season.”

@UofBasketball: “Warriors with a 7’4 rim protector that can shoot in the lineup next to Dray is actually pretty awesome (gigantic IF he can stay healthy whatsoever)”

@NationMffl: “If KP was healthy, he’d be a perfect fit for the Warriors”

Porziņģis was the fourth pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

He has also spent time playing for the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics over 11 seasons.

During the 2024 season, Porziņģis helped lead the Celtics to the NBA Championship.

Right now, the Warriors are the eighth seed in the Western Conference with a 27-24 record in 51 games.

They are in the middle of a two-game losing streak (and 5-5 over their last ten).

On Thursday night, the Warriors will visit the Phoenix Suns in Arizona.
