It’s a sad time to be a Golden State Warriors fan. There was an unfortunate turn of events on Monday as Jimmy Butler III got hurt when the Warriors hosted the Miami Heat. While Golden State managed a dominant 135-112 victory, it wasn’t a pretty sight to witness Butler being helped back to the locker room. Stephen Curry appeared disheartened after seeing his co-star in pain.
Stephen Curry is Left With No Co-Star as Jimmy Butler III has Been Ruled Out of the Season
The Warriors have been on a hot streak as of late. After defeating the Heat on Monday, their winning streak is now four games. While it’s great to see Golden State climb its way back up in the Western Conference standings, we’re unsure how long they can keep the momentum going.
During the third quarter of Monday’s game, Butler collided with the Heat’s Davion Mitchell; he dove for the ball in an attempt to catch a pass inside the paint. Upon collision, Jimmy awkwardly landed on the ground, twisting his knee in the process.
Unfortunately for the Warriors, the worst possible outcome has occurred: Butler has been ruled out for the season with a torn ACL. As his other teammates helped him walk back to the locker room, Curry was clearly devastated to see his co-star crash and burn.

Butler exited his final game of the season, adding 17 points, four assists, three rebounds, and two steals after 21 minutes of play. He finished his season averaging 20.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.4 steals.
With Butler now out of the picture, it might now be more difficult for the Warriors to keep up the momentum they’ve recently built.
The good news is, they still have their soon-to-be 12-time All-Star by their side. Curry has arguably played his best individual game in the past two seasons. Steph is averaging 27.4 points, 5.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals.
In terms of offense, he’s performing better compared to last season, averaging nearly three points more. On the defensive end, he’s more active in comparison to the 2023-24 season. It’s also worth noting that Curry has once again been named an All-Star starter.
Steph is set to headline the 2026 All-Star game with his fellow Western Conference starters Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, Luka Dončić, Nikola Jokić, and Victor Wembanyama.
