Giannis Antetokounmpo spoke about San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama. The Bucks lost to the Spurs on Thursday.

On Thursday night, the Milwaukee Bucks played the San Antonio Spurs in Texas.

The Bucks lost by a score of 119-101.

One of the biggest reasons for their loss was the play of All-Star center Victor Wembanyama.

He finished with 22 points, ten rebounds, one assist and two blocks while shooting 7/12 from the field and 5/6 from three-point range in 22 minutes of playing time.

After the game, Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo spoke about Wembanyama when he met with the media (h/t Hector Ledesma of ClutchPoints).

Antetokounmpo: “He’s pretty much unguardable… As long as he stays healthy, he’s the future of this league… The sky’s the limit.”

Wembanyama is in his third NBA season after being selected with the first pick in the 2023 draft.

He is currently averaging 23.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.7 blocks per contest while shooting 51.6% from the field and 37.7% from three-point range in 27 games.

As for Antetokounmpo, the two-time MVP finished the loss with 21 points, five rebounds, one assist and two steals while shooting 7/12 from the field and 1/1 from three-point range in 22 minutes of playing time.

He is averaging 28.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per contest while shooting 64.7% from the field and 40.5% from three-point range in 27 games.

Right now, the Spurs are the second seed in the Western Conference with a 28-13 record in 41 games.
