As the Dallas Mavericks continue their climb back into the race to make the Western Conference Play-In Tournament, they are missing one of their key players. Nine-time All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving remains out of action while rehabbing his torn left ACL. One of the NBA’s most polarizing stars during the last decade, Irving has reaped the rewards for his outstanding play.
What Are Kyrie Irving’s Career NBA Earnings?
Spotrac notes that “Irving has earned $347,701,173” over his 14-year NBA career. He’s currently in the first year of a three-year, $118,473,846 extension with the Mavericks, although there is speculation regarding whether he’ll finish his contract in Dallas.
Once Irving finishes his current extension, his career NBA earnings will be $429,609,017. Irving is currently 12th in NBA history in total career earnings. He ranks behind Stephen Curry, James Harden, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, and Russell Westbrook as the highest-paid point guards in league history. As the first overall pick, an NBA champion, and a multiple-time All-NBA player, Irving has been a maximum player throughout his entire career.
Despite a limited college career at Duke University, the Cleveland Cavaliers still selected Irving first overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. He signed a four-year $23,198,010 contract and won the Rookie of the Year Award, averaging 18.5 points per game.
The trajectory of his career shifted when LeBron James announced his return to Cleveland in 2014. Irving helped the Cavs win the NBA championship in 2016, hitting an iconic three to put the Cavs ahead in game seven against the Golden State Warriors. Irving signed a five-year $94,343,126 extension with the Cavs in 2015, but eventual tension led to him being traded to the Boston Celtics in 2017.
Irving seemed interested in staying in Boston long-term, but decided the opportunity to play with Kevin Durant was too good to pass up, so he signed a four-year, $136,490,600 contract with the Brooklyn Nets in 2019. Things fell apart in Brooklyn for a variety of reasons, leading the Nets to trade him to the Mavs in 2023.

Irving committed to the Mavs, signing a three-year, $120 million extension as he helped the team reach the NBA Finals in 2024. Mavs fans expected Irving to help Luka Doncic eventually get the Mavs over the hump and win a championship. However, the plan dissolved when Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers this past February, leaving Irving’s future in doubt.
Irving’s Net Worth
Irving’s net worth is $90 million. He had a very lucrative contract with Nike, reportedly earning over $10 million a year. However, the athletic giant parted ways with Irving in 2022, following several controversial statements Irving made on social media. Irving also signed an endorsement deal with Pepsi, which led to him becoming the popular basketball character Uncle Drew. Other endorsement deals in Irving’s portfolio include 2K Sports, Anta, and General Mills.
