The Phoenix Suns are solidly in the Western Conference playoff race, and a major reason for that is the surprising play of wing Dillon Brooks. While Brooks is thriving on the court, he’s also brought some of his questionable antics to the desert, earning multiple technical fouls in recent games. The NBA office analyzed one of his recent technical fouls and announced a new decision.
What Did The NBA Announce Regarding Dillon Brooks
The NBA official league office social media account announced on X the latest update regarding Brooks’s indiscretion. The league office said, “Dillon Brooks (PHX) technical foul at 5:28 in the second quarter on 12/18/25 (vs. GSW) has been rescinded upon league office review.”
Brooks received the technical foul after getting upset over what he believed was a missed foul call. The Suns won the defensive battle against the Warriors 99-98. Brooks was active throughout the game, getting into a brief altercation with Warriors guard Moses Moody in the first half and being charged with a flagrant foul in the fourth quarter after hitting Warriors franchise player Stephen Curry in the midsection.

Brooks scored 24 points in the home win and joked with reporters after the game that he would do some soul-searching regarding his volatile play. He was acquired by the Suns this past summer in the massive Kevin Durant trade.
Brooks is thriving with an expanded role, averaging a career high 21.7 points per game this season, while currently shooting a career high 44.8% from the field. His current 28.8% usage rate is also a career high, though a key factor is the absence of shooting guard Jalen Green, who has missed over a month with a right hamstring strain.
Despite the positives, Brooks has at times harmed the Suns. Even with the rescinded technical foul, Brooks still leads the league with eight. That was on display in the Suns’ recent 116-114 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Brooks loves antagonizing Lakers star LeBron James, and the two players engaged in a heated exchange, each earning a technical foul.
However, Brooks was ejected near the end of the game for taunting James after hitting a go-ahead three. The ejection swung the momentum back in the Lakers’ favor, and they were able to get the win.
Suns Head Coach Jordan Ott has praised Brooks, while franchise player Devin Booker has also said Brooks has helped the team win games. Meanwhile, the rest of the league is waiting for the next time Brooks is involved in controversy.
