Braylon Mullins’ NBA Draft Scouting Report

Braylon Mullins is a 6-foot-6 guard with size, skill, and an advanced feel for the game. A McDonald’s All-American and consensus five-star prospect, he earned his reputation as one of the premier shooters in the country thanks to his lightning-quick release and deep range well beyond the college arc.

He’s comfortable on or off the ball, a fluid mover who can score off the dribble, in transition, or running off screens. Mullins also shows growing ability as a passer and cutter. Defensively, Mullins brings quickness, effort, and a scrappy edge that complements his offensive polish. He’s active laterally, disruptive with his hands, and willing to battle on the glass against bigger players.

His two-way competitiveness, combined with his shooting gravity and positional size, makes him an ideal fit for Dan Hurley’s system at UConn. When he returns from injury, Mullins projects as a freshman impact player.

Mullins’ Latest NBA Draft Projection

Mullins arrived in Storrs as one of the most highly touted prospects in the country. Unfortunately, the preseason Big East Freshman of the Year has yet to take the court for the Huskies because he is recovering from an ankle injury suffered just weeks before the season tipped off.

Dan Hurley’s squad is off to a 4-0 start without the first-year guard, but he will add another dangerous element to UConn’s attack on both ends of the floor.

In our latest 2-round 2026 NBA Mock Draft, the Oklahoma City Thunder selected Mullins with the 19th overall pick. Oklahoma City has reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but it is a team-oriented environment. Mullins’ game would complement the stars already in place.
