The Indiana Pacers might have lost the 2025 NBA Finals series, but they have certainly gained a superstar in Tyrese Haliburton. The young NBA icon, planning to make history in Indiana, remains one of the most talked-about basketball players this year.
Of course, fans are just as interested in Haliburton’s off-court as they are in his on-court performance. Naturally, this includes Haliburton’s fiancée, Jade Jones.
Pacers Star Tyrese Haliburton Reveals Earlier Tension Between Mom Brenda and Fiancée Jade Jones
During a recent appearance on “What’s Your Story?” with Steph McMahon, Haliburton was asked about his relationship. Speaking of his mother, Brenda, and Jones, Haliburton admitted that earlier communication problems might have strained their relationship.
“They get along amazing. I think at first there was a little like there always is for me, I’m my mom’s baby. And I’m not the greatest communicator,” Haliburton admitted. “My mom wants to know everything that’s going on, and when I don’t tell her, then it was like it was Jade’s fault that I wasn’t telling her. I was a spoiled child and, my brothers will say, I was the golden child. So I rarely got yelled at. And so my mom was like, ‘Who do I put the blame on? It would be Jade.’”
However, Haliburton revealed how their relationship got better later on.
The Pacers star admitted to being the Golden Child in the family, and his mother never blamed him.
“When I got traded here to Indiana and I had to leave the next day to get here and my mom and Jade had to put together how are we gonna sell all the furniture, how are we gonna get rid of everything and get the dogs here and coordinate everything like that. They have been thick as thieves ever since…”
After starting his career with the Sacramento Kings in 2020, Haliburton was traded to the Pacers in 2022. It was a significant move for the young guard, who seems to have made Indiana his new home.
Jones Documented Haliburton’s Emotional Journey
Despite all the hype, Haliburton’s 2025 NBA Finals ended in heartbreak, as he suffered a torn Achilles.
Jones, who has been with Haliburton every step of the way, made sure to document his emotional journey as she wrote on Instagram:
“What a year!!! What a bittersweet ending to it all. This team is SO special, beyond words. You have made a historic run for the Pacers that generations will be talking about!!! This season has made such a special imprint on my heart. One of the best things we have ever been a part of!!! Just know how much it meant to all of us,” Jones wrote.
