WWE Star Jade Cargill’s Career Launches Into New Direction

Jade Cargill signed with WWE in 2023 and made her debut at the Royal Rumble the next year. Since then, she has continued to be on an upward trajectory, even winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles in the process. She also competed in her first singles WrestleMania match this year and remains the focus of the women’s division on SmackDown.

Joining WWE was meant to open many doors for Cargill, and that is exactly what has happened. Last year, it was reported that she signed a deal with Paradigm Talent Agency, whose client roster includes CM Punk, Liv Morgan, Drew McIntyre, and many other WWE Superstars. As it turns out, the move has already paid dividends.

Jade Cargill Set to Be Part of Major Project Outside WWE

According to a report by DeadlineCargill is going to take her first steps into Hollywood with a role opposite Jonathan Majors. The report read, “WWE Superstar Jade Cargill is set to make her acting debut starring opposite Jonathan Majors in True Threat, the Harlem-set action thriller from director Gerard McMurray (The First Purge, Burning Sands).”

The plot of the movie involves Majors playing a Special Forces operative, Vernon Threat, who returns home to avenge the murder of his teen son by the Apollo Kids gang. In order to do so, he infiltrates The Carter, their 20-story building, and battles his way to the top to confront his former mentor, Shallow.

As for Cargill’s role, she plays Meeka, a key lieutenant in the gang, and is a central antagonist. While Cargill is yet to talk about the new opportunity, director Gerard McMurray was excited to have her on board and was full of praise for her.

Speaking to Deadline, McMurray said, “I am excited to have Jade join us on True Threat. She is a unique talent with a rare blend of athleticism, charisma, and control on camera. The role of Meeka requires presence and precision, and Jade brings both. I believe audiences will see a completely new side of her in this film.” The movie is scheduled to begin production this fall.

Meanwhile, Cargill will have her focus on the upcoming Queen of the Ring challenge in WWE.

Cargill Will Be Part of the Queen of the Ring Tournament

While her Hollywood aspirations are taking off, Cargill will be eyeing the opportunity to win the Queen of the Ring tournament. As part of the SmackDown roster, she is set to compete against Michin, Nia Jax, and Piper Niven in a Fatal 4-Way first-round match. The winner of this match will qualify for the semi-finals.

The match will likely take place this week on SmackDown (June 13), and the winner will face RAW’s newest member, Roxanne Perez, in the final four.

The winner of the tournament will earn a World Title shot at SummerSlam. The Storm is one of the favorites to win the entire thing.
