WWE and AEW have been at loggerheads in the world of professional wrestling since 2019. Tony Khan’s promotion has competed with the Stamford-based company for several years now. In doing so, fans have often seen their talents exchange heated words on social media, and a similar instance took place in recent memory.
Which AEW And WWE Stars Were Engaged In A Heated Online Exchange?
A fan recently called NXT standout Je’Von Evans the “best young prospect” in wrestling. This caught the attention of former WWE superstar, who is now a part of the AEW roster, Ricochet. He launched a fiery response by claiming that he would easily squash the young NXT star. The tweets have since been deleted but screenshots of the exchange has been doing the rounds on social media.
Je’Von Evans decided not to sit quietly and fired back at Ricochet by highlighting that he was being trained under one of the best in the business, Shawn Michaels. The NXT star tweeted, “My Bad. I Just Got Done Training At The Performance Center, Under Shawn Michaels. Something That You Don’t Have Or Do BUT, I Bet Yo Brown Egg Head A** Would Squash Me If Tony Told You To🤷🏾♂️Much Love OG.”
Ricochet responded by saying that he underwent the same training and proceeded to win multiple titles in WWE. The former United States Champion highlighted that Evans is yet to win even one. He tweeted, “Brother, I was learning from Shawn Michaels when you was like 12. Then went on to become multiple time Champion. Let me know when you win one, little boy.”

Je’Von Evans mocked Ricochet for leaving the global juggernaut to perform in front of only 2000 fans. However, the AEW star responded by reminding him about the small capacity of NXT’s venue, where Evans currently competes. This put an end to the fiery battle that took place between the duo.
Ricochet Left WWE Last Year, While Je’Von Evans Rose To Prominence
Ricochet had been a part of WWE for years, starting his career in NXT. Despite wrestling top names and winning multiple championships, he never ascended from the mid-card. After his contract expired last year, the former NXT North American Champion left the company that ‘ruined his passion for the sport’, as he mentioned, and made his debut for AEW at their All In event, becoming a top fixture for them.
On the other hand, WWE Universe witnessed the rise of Je’Von Evans in NXT last year. He was featured in prominent matches and title showdowns. Moreover, he got an opportunity of a lifetime on the debut episode of NXT on the CW network in October.
The young upstart competed against WWE veteran Randy Orton and put up a valiant effort despite coming short. With their respective rise in different companies, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Je’Evans and Ricochet.
