Hulk Hogan is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, but he has also been involved in numerous controversies, earning several haters over the years. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer has faced negative backlash from fans and even dealt with legal issues in recent times.
Not only have fans criticized Hogan, but many wrestlers have also voiced negative opinions about him. For instance, wrestlers like Scott Steiner have accused Hogan of engaging in backstage politics. And recently, another WWE superstar, Booker T, reflected on the hate Hogan has been receiving.
Booker T Makes Fun of Hulk Hogan
On a recent episode of his “Reality of Wrestling” podcast, Booker T talked about fans chanting “Hulk Hogan, we’re coming for you” during NXT Roadblock on March 11. Here’s what the NXT commentator and two-time Hall of Famer in his own right had to say.
“Man, that chant in the NXT arena is going viral. It’s everywhere. Everywhere we go, they say that. Who started this? I didn’t start it. Well, maybe I did. [laughs] Guys, give me a break on the ‘Hulk Hogan, we comin’ for you,’ alright? [laughs]”
Earlier this month, Hogan reportedly walked out of a meet-and-greet, leaving children upset after they had waited in line for hours to meet him. When the topic came up, here’s what Booker T said.
“Bro. He’s having a rough senior life,” Booker T said. “They call him, what do they call him now? MAGA maniac or something? [laughs]”
Hogan’s Appearance on Raw Netflix Premiere
After a long absence, Hogan appeared on WWE Raw on Jan. 6, 2025, when the red brand debuted on Netflix. However, the wrestling icon didn’t get a warm welcome.
Instead of cheering him on as they had done for decades, the crowd booed Hogan heavily. He was there to promote WWE’s partnership with Netflix and his Real American Beer, but the Los Angeles crowd wasn’t interested in hearing from him and booed throughout his segment.
There were indications that the promo was supposed to last a bit longer, but the chorus of boos may have shortened the segment. It could even be perceived that Hogan may have rushed through the monologue as a reaction.
No one can forget Hogan’s contributions to wrestling in the 1980s and 1990s. However, his legacy has been overshadowed by controversy in recent years. Only time will tell if he can regain some of the respect he has lost or if the wrestling world will ultimately turn its back on the legend.
