WWE Couple Achieves a Rare Feat on SmackDown After WrestleMania 41

The RAW after WrestleMania seems to be the hotspot for debuts, returns, and everything in between. It seems like Triple H wanted to keep the momentum going as a WWE couple got to experience an incredible feat together. Not only that, but a hit tag team debuted on the main roster, a new champion was crowned, and a memorable return changed the landscape of Friday Night SmackDown.

A WWE Couple is Together on SmackDown

Aleister Black is back. Black returned to WWE on Friday night as he was sick of hearing The Miz run his mouth. Miz was quickly laid out, courtesy of a Black Mass, something WWE fans haven’t seen in nearly five years. A match was set up between The Miz and Aleister Black for next week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown. It’ll be Black’s first match with the company since October 12, 2020.

Elsewhere on the show, Zelina Vega captured the first singles championship of her career. Over a decade ago, she won the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships, and she enjoyed a 132-day WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship reign with Carmella, but never in her 15-year career has she won a singles championship.

WWE originally brought in Zelina Vega as the manager for Andrade. She wasn’t a wrestler, and they kept her outside of the ring for quite a long time. Eventually, they paired the two up for the Mixed Match Challenge, but most of Vega’s matches took place at the untelevised live events.

A career highlight for Zelina was walking into WrestleMania 38 as one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Her title reign with Carmella began on November 22, 2021, as they took down Nikki ASH and Rhea Ripley. The duo’s championship run came just one month after Zelina Vega outlasted Toni Storm, Carmella, and Doudrop to become the Queen of the Ring. While 2021 was a career year for Zelina Vega, 2025 seems set to be one of her best.

Zelina Vega and Aleister Black had a very private relationship, something that is extremely hard to hide nowadays. The two got married back in 2018, and now are on the same brand as Aleister Black made his WWE return. Zelina Vega has lost just one singles match this year. However, she defied the odds, becoming WWE’s second Women’s United States Champion when she took down Chelsea Green last night.

There are no indications that Black and Vega will be used as an on-screen duo together, but the couple was able to win a championship and return to the company on the same night, an incredible feat that not many ever get to experience together.
