After a lot of speculation and drama, WWE has finally confirmed the location and dates for WWE WrestleMania 42.
This comes after the company cancelled the original plans for the event, which was supposed to take place in New Orleans next year.
WWE WrestleMania 42 Will Be In Familiar Territory
Despite the WWE Universe preparing for the Grandest Stage of Them All to take place in New Orleans, WWE made the unprecedented decision to pivot at the last minute. Even though WWE had publicly announced the original location, they pulled the plug on it and will now return to Las Vegas.
The company will be going back-to-back with WWE WrestleMania 42, as the two-night extravaganza is happening in the same place as WWE WrestleMania 41.
During tonight’s WWE Money in the Bank PLE, an advert announced that featured Triple H announcing that WWE WrestleMania 42 will be at the Allegiant Stadium again. It will take place a week later than initially intended, on April 18 and 19, 2026.
Time to double down.#WrestleMania returns to @AllegiantStadm in Las @Vegas on April 18 & 19, 2026!

So far, that’s all that has been announced for the WWE WrestleMania 42 weekend, but fans should expect the usual events, from an NXT special to the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
WWE WrestleMania 42’s Location Might Divide Fans
While spending a weekend in Las Vegas could be fun for many wrestling fans, doing it in consecutive years might also be off-putting for some. Fans often travel around the world to attend WWE WrestleMania, and they do so while enjoying different areas of America.
Therefore, putting the event in the exact same location might not have the same draw for people, especially international events. This is particularly true because Las Vegas is notoriously not a cheap place for people to travel and stay.
WWE has previously confirmed that a future WWE WrestleMania event will be held in New Orleans, but it remains to be seen when that will happen. Instead, the company will now be gearing up for a Las Vegas return, as WWE will have to pull out something special to take fans back.
It remains unclear as to the exact reason why WWE decided to abandon its original plans and return to Las Vegas, but it is likely a business decision based on finances. Whether that ends up working out for the company will remain to be seen, but it has certainly got people talking.
