John Cena is set to face one of his most loyal fans, R-Truth, at the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event, and most fans believe The Franchise Player will win this bout. However, a major wrestling podcaster recently made a bold and contradictory prediction about this much-anticipated showdown.
R-Truth to Defeat John Cena at SNME?
John Cena has been making headlines and shocking the wrestling world during his infamous heel run. After winning his historic 17th World Title by defeating Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41, Cena began a heated feud with longtime rival Randy Orton.
While most fans cheered The Viper, one man stood by Cena’s side: R-Truth. He even appeared during the closing moments of the final showdown between Cena and Orton, saving his childhood hero from getting a Punt Kick.
Cena, capitalizing on the distraction caused by Truth, successfully defended his title. However, instead of appreciating the help, he shockingly put his most loyal fan through a table during the post-show press conference. This dramatic moment led to the official match being set for SNME on May 24.
Many fans assume that WWE legend will easily win this match. However, popular wrestling podcaster Chris Van Vliet has a different perspective. In a recent episode of his show, Van Vliet shared his thoughts on the match, highlighting how it’s being built as a classic good vs. evil encounter.
He also noted that Cena’s recent wrestling style, less entertaining and more brutal, aligns with his heel persona. CVV pointed out that the match has been announced as a non-title bout, which could indicate a potential upset: “The fact that the title is not on the line tells me that R-Truth has a chance.”
Cody Rhodes to Return During Cena vs. Truth Match?
Van Vliet also raised the possibility that the non-title status of the match may be booked to set up the return of Cody Rhodes.
“Maybe it’s being done to facilitate the return of ‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes. We haven’t seen Cody Rhodes since the end of night two of WrestleMania 41. Could this be the opportunity for him to come back?”
He went on to share another intriguing possibility, suggesting that Rhodes could return and cost Cena the match, setting up a high-stakes rematch for the title: “Maybe Cody comes out and costs John Cena the match. Oh my gosh—the upset of the year, the upset of the decade!”
With so many rumors and possibilities swirling, fans are buzzing with excitement and speculation. Could Rhodes really show up and cost his rival a match against Truth? Time will tell.
