If there is one thing you can expect from WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Triple H, it is that he is social media savvy. From addressing online backlash over his booking leading up to WrestleMania 41 to using the internet for the benefit of WWE’s programming, ‘The Game’ is at the top of things.
In WWE, the next viral moment is only that far away. A particular spot or star can become a trending topic anytime, and one star who built a career on going viral was at the receiving end of such a moment last week.
Triple H Pokes Fun at Former WWE Champion for Viral Spot
Logan Paul is one of the best examples of WWE capitalizing on social media’s rise to bring more mainstream attention to its product. The YouTuber had an established fan base before he started competing part-time inside the squared circle. Being a former U.S Champion and having competed at WrestleMania multiple times, Paul has had his fair share of viral moments.
However, last week at Saturday Night’s Main Event, ‘The Maverick’ was left red-faced in the World title match against Jey Uso after an unpleasant spot.
An image of Uso’s foot smashing right into Paul’s chin went viral on social media. Sure enough, Triple H wasted no time in taking a light-hearted jab at Paul following the incident. In his June 4 YouTube vlog, Paul shared a moment where he was seen checking his phone and revealed a message from his boss.
“I just got a s—-y text from my boss. Look what he f—–g texted me dude! He said, ‘Have you seen this yet? That’s on the button,'” Logan said, laughing while he showed the text he received from the ‘Cerebral Assassin.’
Despite being roasted, Paul brushed it off, saying he was the one who knocked off Uso eventually. He also mentioned that it was only due to Cody Rhodes interfering that he lost the match.
He will now team up with John Cena to take on Uso and Rhodes at Money in the Bank on Saturday.
While this was an embarrassing spot for Paul, he has had quite a few moments where he has shown why WWE has invested in him.
Logan Paul Has Had Other Viral Moments in WWE
Right from his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38, Paul has set a standard for himself in WWE. Since then, he has gone on to compete against some of the best WWE has to offer while also winning the U.S. title in the process.
As with his vlogging career on YouTube, Paul has had quite a few viral moments in WWE. At the 2023 Royal Rumble, Paul was involved in an unbelievable mid-air collision with former WWE star Ricochet. The clip of their spot went viral across social media.
At WrestleMania 39, he put on an incredible performance against Seth Rollins, but the match went viral for a different reason. With Paul’s streamer friend KSI showing up to help him, Paul jumped from the top rope, attempting a splash on Rollins through the announce table.
However, Paul didn’t realize that Rollins had pulled KSI in his place at the last second, causing the two YouTubers to crash through.
With Paul staying with WWE for the foreseeable future, expect more such spots from him.
