Triple H And WWE Reportedly Pursuing Top AEW Star For Main Roster Move

Triple H and WWE continue to make roster changes, and after the turbulent situation with R-Truth’s departure and his comeback a few days later, it seems that the company could add a top star to its roster soon.

Reports suggest that an AEW star is close to making the move from Tony Khan’s company to the Stamford-based company, and this star is former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker.

Britt Baker Getting Close to Signing With WWE, Says Former WWE Executive

Baker has been off AEW TV for months, and there are no signs that she will come back anytime soon. A report suggests, though, that she is ready for the next step in her career, which is to move to WWE.

Former WWE executive Jonathan Coachman revealed that the AEW star was close to joining WWE, and it appears that there is a storyline ready for her.

“Alright, so I just got this in real time. You guys know, I’ve just been breaking news left and right, and when it’s in context, I have yet to be wrong. So, I just found out there’s a name, a female name, out there that is this close to signing with WWE. Any guesses? She is ready, she’s so ready. She’s got the built-in storyline, and she got buried because she pushed back. She spoke up about what was going on, and in wrestling, you know you can’t do that,” Coachman said during an appearance on the ‘Behind the Turnbuckle’ podcast.

Baker has been with AEW since 2019, and there were reports that she signed a contract extension in 2021, which ends at some point in 2026. This deal, though, wouldn’t be a problem if she wanted to part ways with the company and move to WWE.

Former RAW Star Reacts to Triple H and WWE Parting Ways With Him

Carlito is no longer part of RAW and WWE after Triple H and the company made the decision to not renew his contract. Carlito was part of The Judgment Day but had become the faction’s weak link and had no clear direction on RAW.

The former WWE star opened up about leaving WWE and revealed that he wanted to end his storyline with The Judgment Day before parting ways with the company.

“I wasn’t too surprised or too shocked, you know, I mean, I signed for two years, and it actually went better than I then I thought it would go…The only thing is, I’m a professional…they could have told me, and I would have…at least let me finish out the story for the Judgment Day so they can keep on going…I think it’s a disrespect to the fans that…that somebody just dropped storylines…I’m not getting pushed, and Hunter is not a fan of Carlito. I think, personally, he likes me, but I think he never was a big fan of the character,” Carlito said in an appearance on ‘Busted Open Radio.’

Carlito worked in WWE from 2004 through 2010 before coming back full time in 2023, when he signed a two-year deal.
