The Undertaker’s New WWE Backstage Role Heavily Discussed

The Undertaker has tried to keep himself busy following his retirement at WrestleMania 36. The Phenom has started his ‘Six Feet Under’ podcast and held his live event titled the ‘1 deadMAN Show’ ever since hanging up his boots.

Apart from this, ‘Taker has shown up at some of WWE’s events, while also being part of other extended programming from the company. But as it turns out, he could be set for a much bigger role than just making special appearances.

The Undertaker Could Be Working Alongside Triple H Soon

According to industry veteran, Konnan, who recently worked the WWE-AAA Worlds Collide event, The Undertaker might soon be part of WWE’s creative set up. Konnan mentioned that ‘The Deadman’ has been a part of WWE’s creative for some events, including Money in the Bank.

Speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan revealed that ‘Taker was backstage during Worlds Collide. Konnan said, “I think that, bro, I was running around. So, I think that The Undertaker wants to get into creative. He likes it a lot, and he’s been, you know… he was in creative meeting for Money In the Bank, he was in the other one (Worlds Collide)… and I think he’s very interested in being a part of the creative team.”

The AAA commentator also added that he thinks ‘Taker will do a good job if he becomes a permanent member of the creative team, which is helmed by Triple H. “He would do well there. I listened to some of his ideas (on his podcast),” Konnan mentioned.

The Undertaker has been working with talent in NXT at the Performance Center and was part of the first season of WWE LFG (Legends & Future Greats) reality competition. But a switch to WWE’s creative team will mean a more hands-on role and a larger say on how the talent is booked.

Currently, Triple H oversees the creative as the Chief Content Officer. He has several former WWE stars in creative roles, with ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James working as SmackDown head writer and Shawn Michaels in charge of NXT. It will be interesting to see where ‘Taker fits in the writers’ room in WWE.

The Undertaker Could Help WWE’s Under-Fire Creative Team

The rumors of The Undertaker joining WWE’s creative team come at an interesting time. Recently, Triple H and the rest of the team have been under fire from fans over the booking of some storylines and wrestlers.

John Cena’s heel turn has failed to catch fire, and the poor booking of the tag team divisions on both shows has been a subject of scrutiny. Apart from this, the failure to utilize many talented stars on the roster, such as Karrion Kross, has also drawn the ire of the fans.

If ‘Taker ends up joining the creative team under Triple H, fans would expect some changes for the good under his tutelage.
