SmackDown Star Seemingly Injured at Money in the Bank, WWE Acknowledges Scary Spot

The dust is still settling from WWE’s Money in the Bank, with the aftermath of the two brutal and chaotic ladder matches being felt across WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown.

Fans got to see everyone on the red brand this past Monday, but one individual representing Friday nights might have come off worse for wear.

Andrade Might Have Been Hurt at WWE’s Money in the Bank

The men’s ladder match was one of the most exciting parts of WWE’s Money in the Bank, wth the encounter featuring tons of unique and innovative spots. All six men, plus the four non-participants who got involved, put their bodies on the line throughout the match in a bid to have a memorable moment.

Ultimately, it was Seth Rollins who will never forget the ladder match as he climbed the ladder to claim the Money in the Bank briefcase for the second time in his career. Andrade, meanwhile, may have some bruises that will ensure he doesn’t forget it either.

WWE shared footage from the match that showcases Andrade taking out El Grande Americano. The SmackDown star climbed over the masked man on top of the ladder and then powerbombed him off the ladder while flipping over his back.

It’s an impressive move that looked painful for Americano, but upon closer inspection, it might have been Andrade who came off worse. This particular angle showcases the awkward way that he lands, with his knee bending in a new direction.

What Is Next for Andrade?

While Andrade certainly suffered a rough landing in this moment, it appears that the damage isn’t going to keep him out of the ring. That’s because the former AEW star has been confirmed as a participant in the King of the Ring tournament.

Andrade will compete in one of the two quarterfinal fatal four-way matches on the SmackDown side to try and earn his way toward the finals, which will take place at WWE’s Night of Champions.

In his quarterfinal matchup, Andrade will square off against Cody Rhodes, Damian Priest, and Shinsuke Nakamura. The winner will compete against someone from the WWE Raw brand, with Sheamus, Bronson Reed, Rusev, and a mystery wrestler being part of that fatal four-way.

It’s a significant opportunity for Andrade, as the winner of the tournament will go on to receive a world title shot at WWE SummerSlam. So far, only Sami Zayn from Raw has booked his place in the semifinal stage.
