Seth Rollins is Responsible For WWE SmackDown Star’s Eye ‘Injury’ – What You Probably Didn’t Know

Seth Rollins has done some unsettling things every time he puts himself above the world. During his tenure as ‘The Monday Night Messiah, he did his fair share of horrific things that sent shockwaves across the WWE landscape. In one particular instance, Rollins was responsible for a SmackDown star’s major eye injury, who had a confrontation with him years after the incident.

Which SmackDown Star Felt the Wrath of Seth Freakin’ Rollins?

Seth Rollins was leading the charge of a dominant faction during his run as The Monday Night Messiah back in 2020. It was at the height of the pandemic that Rollins had channeled his most vicious side. He was joined by his pupil, Buddy Matthews (fka Buddy Murphy), and the AOP to wreak havoc on the entire company.

On an episode of Monday Night RAW, Rollins and his stable crossed paths with the unorthodox Aleister Black. Following a beatdown, The Visionary ordered his protege, Matthews, to inflict the worst kind of pain on Black. As he was barking orders, Matthews shoved Black’s eye straight into the steel steps, which led to him suffering a gruesome injury.

This scene was similar to Rollins’ ‘Eye for an Eye’ match against WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at the 2020 WWE Extreme Rules: Horror Show event. Fast-forward to 2025, Aleister Black returned to WWE following a lackluster stint in AEW.

During the go-home edition of SmackDown for Money in the Bank PLE, Rollins was about to inflict damage on LA Knight during his scheduled match with Black. As he was preparing to deliver a Stomp, Black got in his way, and he backed off. This was a possible hint that he had not forgotten what Rollins had done to him five years ago and could seek retribution against The Revolutionary in the months to come.

Seth Rollins is Coming Off a Huge Victory at WWE Money in the Bank PLE

While his potential feud with Aleister Black may come to fruition soon, Seth Rollins currently holds a significant power position in WWE. He formed a new faction with Paul Heyman after WrestleMania 41 and recruited the imposing Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed to his ranks.

Furthermore, Rollins scored a huge win at the 2025 WWE Money in the Bank PLE last week. He defeated five other in-ring competitors to win the namesake ladder match for the second time in his career.

The former Architect of the Shield also teased potentially cashing in his contract for the Undisputed WWE Championship on the following episode of RAW. With Rollins holding a golden ticket in his hand, it seems the plan for a complete hostile takeover is nearing its final destination.
