Seth Rollins raised the stakes on “Monday Night Raw” mere days before WrestleMania 41 when he declared that his Triple Threat match with Roman Reigns and CM Punk would shape WWE’s future. All three men are set to main event Night 1 on Saturday, April 19.
WWE’s creative team added another page to this multi-layered storyline on RAW this week as Rollins, Reigns, and Punk closed the flagship show.
Seth Rollins Wants To Ensure WWE’s Future Is in Safe Hands
The segment opened with Paul Heyman attempting to make amends with The Tribal Chief after he chose to be on CM Punk’s corner. The Wiseman explained that he is only returning the favor. Seth Rollins then joined the conversation.
The Visionary, who was once one-third of the faction (The Shield) alongside Roman Reigns and AEW’s Jon Moxley (FKA Dean Ambrose), reminded his former tag partner that Paul Heyman is a dishonorable man. He then got to the meat of the matter.
Seth Rollins claimed that the winner of this Saturday’s Triple Threat match would define the future of WWE. Last year, he echoed a similar sentiment before WrestleMania concerning Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns.
Ultimately, he was instrumental in The American Nightmare’s triumph over The Tribal Chief on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Rhodes went on to headline major shows in 2024 and remains the Undisputed WWE Champion to this day.
Perhaps what The Visionary may have subtly conveyed is that whoever walks away with the victory between him, The Tribal Chief, and The Best in the World, will be the centerpiece of WWE shows for the remainder of the year. None of them are strangers to the main event scene, but they all have taken a backseat in recent times.
After Reigns dropped the Undisputed WWE title to Cody Rhodes, he got involved in family affairs as his cousin Solo Sikoa attempted to take over as The Bloodline’s leader. Punk, on the other hand, met an unfortunate fate during WrestleMania season last year, which forced him to sit on the bench for months. Upon his return, he entered a blood feud with the man that put him there, Drew McIntyre.
As for Rollins, for years, he has always held up his end of the bargain, putting on exceptional performances, being part of remarkable storylines, and elevating talents. He was the inaugural World Heavyweight Champion on RAW, a title held until WrestleMania 40.
Seth Rollins stood tall over Roman Reigns and CM Punk on RAW to end the show, after recreating The Shield’s breakup from a decade ago. Which of the three WWE superstars will define the future of the industry?
